I wanted to share one of my favorite tracks I’ve written this year as a first post.

This track was written for the Game Maker’s Tool Kit jam that happened in July. A few months prior to that, I was finishing up my degree in film scoring. Throughout my time at school, I felt like I had to write for only orchestra to become a “serious” film composer.

This jam gave me permission to have fun writing a track and return to a palette that feels more me. It also made me realize how much I enjoy being part of the process of making games.

Along with that, the jam also introduced me to the game Omori. I was given the track “Forest Frenzy” as a reference from the programmer and artist.

The first 30 seconds is an intro segment that my friend Chai (also a big Omori fan) wrote based off of the rest of the track.
